Julia was born and raised in a small country town outside of Erie, PA. She completed her B.S. in Exercise Science at the University of South Florida, and it was there that she cultivated her love for group exercise! Shortly after graduating, she and her husband, Jarod, got married and moved to Lexington where she completed her M.S. in Kinesiology and Health Promotion and Ph.D. in Educational Leadership focusing on health and higher education from the University of Kentucky. After over a decade managing fitness and wellness programs, she and Jarod followed their dream and opened CADENCE in early 2018. Julia is a certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM EP-C) with the EIM Level 2 credential, a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), and holds certifications in indoor cycling (Schwinn and Stages), TRX, Pilates, Barre Above, and health coaching, among others. When she's not at CADENCE, she's teaching young minds as a professor of health promotion and exercise science or hanging out with her pup, Coal!
